Centennial Parade and Celebration
Celebrate 250 years — the Scout way. Grab your unit, grab your flags, and help lead the biggest birthday celebration of our lifetime. Let’s fill the parade route with Scout pride
Let’s show our community what it means to lead with service, unity, and Scout spirit. Now that we’re officially in the year of America’s Semiquincentennial, celebration planning is going into high gear. Middletown America 250 and Monmouth NJ 250 have announced plans to partner on Red, White & You a birthday parade and America's Big Birthday Festival set for Sunday, June 28.
This date marks the anniversary of the Battle of Monmouth, a pivotal moment in the fight for liberty. The celebration will highlight Monmouth County’s rich history and its contributions to the American story over the past 250 years.
Parade participants are encouraged to showcase the spirit of this once-in-a-lifetime celebration through visual elements, music, costumes, and creativity that honor America’s journey.
The 2.3-mile parade route begins at the train station, continues north on Church Street, turns right on Kings Highway, left on New Monmouth Road, left on Cherry Tree Farm Road, and ends at Mater Dei Park.
We proudly invite all Scouts to represent Monmouth Council in this historic parade. If your pack or troop is participating in your town’s local America 250 events, we’d love to hear how you’re celebrating. Share your plans, photos, or traditions so we can highlight the incredible ways Scouts are honoring this once-in-a-lifetime milestone across Monmouth and Middlesex County. Send photos an/or videos to julisa.joaquim@scouting.org
