





Nestled in the pristine New Jersey Pine Barrens and just minutes from the Jersey Shore, the Joseph A. Citta Scout Reservation is the perfect place for your unit’s outdoor adventures. From simple tent camping to rifle shooting to kayaking on the Barnegat Bay, CSR offers a wide variety of programs to fit your unit’s every need. CSR also offers premier summer camping programs including Scouts BSA Troop Summer Camp, Scouts BSA Individual Summer Camp, Webelos Adventure Camp, Cub Scout Day Camp, and year-round camping on the weekends.
Citta Scout Reservations has a total of nine (9) unit campsites. Sites are available with different accommodations to meet every unit’s needs! During summer camp, each site is furnished with two-man wall tents (except Kewe which has 4-person Lean To’s), canvas cots, picnic tables, and a pavilion.

Camp Rentals
There is no better place than the Joseph A. Citta Scout Reservation for your unit’s next outing. Citta boasts 9 tent sites, lean-to camping, cabin camping, and more. CSR offers a wide variety of programs for any age group including: Kayaking, Canoeing rentals, BB/Archery, Rifle Shooting, Shotgun Shooting, Wrist Rockets, Paintball target shooting, Climbing and Rappelling, Hiking Trails, and Project C.O.P.E. CSR also has many options for your training/camping needs including the Training Lodge, Citta Center, Dining Hall, Kokes Training Facility. CSR has many state-of-the-art facilities than can turn any outing from good to great.
Facilities Available to Reserve
- Albert A. Bisch Rotary Center (Dining Hall) – Perfect for training, A/V equipment available, tables and chairs for 295, and male and female bathrooms.
- Dining Hall/Kitchen – Same as above including kitchen, commercial cooking equipment, walk-in refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher.
- Citta Center – Serves as a Scout Leader lounge in the summer and a conference center and winter cabin throughout the remainder of the year. Capacity is 40 for training and 32 for winter cabin. All are equipped with Wi-Fi and A/V equipment. A small kitchen and multiple half-bathrooms are located in this facility.
- Training Lodge – Lodge with bunks for 24, common training area, restrooms, showers, full kitchen
- Yurts – Three (3) 16-foot round structures that sleep 6 people each!
- Campsites – Room for tents, running water, and latrines on every site. Reserve a campsite today!
🥾 Year-Round Activities
In addition to just camping, Citta offers a wide variety of activities for any age group including: Kayaking/Canoeing rentals, BB/Archery, Rifle Shooting, Shotgun Shooting, Wrist Rockets, 3D Archery, our Cowboy Action Range, COPE and Climbing, and hiking and orienteering trails.
Nestled in the Pine Barrens, the Joseph A. Citta Scout Reservation offers plenty of hiking and orienteering trails for Scouts to embark on surrounded by nature. Whether this is part of a program for a weekend campout or just a day trip, Citta has it all. These trails are good for all levels of Scouting from Cub Scouts to Venturing and can fit into any amount of time. Please reference the attached maps below to explore the different trails offered to Units.
For these hikes, we recommend some of the following items:
- Day Pack
- Water Bottle
- Orienteering Compass/GPS
- Bug Spray
- Sunblock
- Small First Aid Kit
- Hiking Boots
- Sun Protection (hat, glasses, etc.)
- Scout Handbook
Copies of the Orienteering map can be provided at the Camp Office. Compasses and GPS’s can be rented by your Unit from the Camp Office as well.
This is a great activity for your unit to do while camping at CSR! Most programs are based upon one-hour sessions for scheduling purposes. Unit size and activity will determine the actual length.
